The Commonwealth of Virginia’s statewide metadata portal and data clearinghouse. Look here first for finding geospatial data concerning the Commonwealth.
- VBMP Orthophotography
The Virginia Base Mapping Program produces orthophotography (aerial photography) on a recurring basis for the entire Commonwealth. This imagery supports state and local government uses and is also available for purchase by interested parties.
- VBMP Road Centerlines
From the Virginia Base Mapping Program orthophotography VGIN has produced a statewide dataset of road centerlines, incorporating ancillary data from the Virginia Department of Transportation as well as local governments.
- Web Map Services
VGIN offers several base layers and the Virginia Base Mapping Program orthophotography as a consumable web service for use in your desktop GIS software.
